Although our array of products and services has changed over time, Stamats has remained in the specialized communications business for more than 80 years now thats a long time.Our company traces its roots back to 1923 when we were founded by Frank French, an Englishman, and Herbert Stamats, a native of Cedar Rapids, Iowa. French and Stamats opened a promotion and advertising agency serving Midwest retail stores. Ten years later, they expanded the business with the launch of a national magazine. And, thats how it all began. The companys publishing business soon grew and so did the need for consistently high quality printing. So, Stamats integrated a printing operation in the 1940s.In the late 1950s, the printing business expanded to include creative services. Among early clients were a few colleges which sought highquality brochures and catalogs for their college admissions departments. With a turnkey approach, including photography, design, writing, and printing, Stamats began developing a reputation among colleges and universities as a specialist in this market niche.
